Lucayan Image Analysis
Students were split into groups of four to write a paragraph analyzing a drawing of the Lucayan Taínos, the Indigenous group living in the Bahamas when Columbus' ships arrived in 1492.
"Body Rituals of the Nacirema" Group Drawing Activity
Students chose one quote from an adapted version of the text, "Body Rituals in the Nacirema," by Horace Miner. Next, one of their classmates drew a picture depicting that quote. At this point, students swapped a second time and a third classmate colored in the illustration. Here are some of the finished results:
